Insomniacs pertenecen al estupendo plantel de la compañía Delta Groove. Eso es ya un pasaporte o credencial suficiente para saber que se trata de un grupo de calidad como para no quedar defraudado al oirlos. Desde el primer tema “Stick Around” hasta el último “No Wine, No Women” el disco no decae en ningún momento. Insomniacs son cuatro músicos pertenecientes a la nueva generación de artistas que practican un ‘jump blues’ de la costa oeste con mucho swing y un gusto exquisito, y toman también elementos del rockabilly y blues de Chicago de los cincuentas. Los arreglos y juegos musicales entre el guitarrista y cantante Vyasa Dodson y el teclista Alex Shaker son tremendamente satisfactorios. La voz de Dodson es asimismo efectiva, con un timbre atractivo y brillante que cautiva facilmente al oyente. Un disco equilibrado, intenso y variado que te atrapa de principio a fin por la calidad de los músicos y el estilo elegante con el que se desenvuelven. MUY BUENO. Insomniacs are a four musicians band which belong to the new musicians generation who perform West Coast jump blues with a tasteful amazing swing but they also include some rockabilly and fifties Chicago blues elements. Arrangements and musical games between singer and guitar player Vyasa Dodson and keyboards player Alex Shaker are completely satisfying. Dodson’s voice is very effective too with a bright attractive tone that will immediately captivate listeners.
