MITCH
KASHMAR "LIVE AT LABATT"
Source: Harmonica World
Date: 02/2009
Writer: Norman Darwen |
Besides enjoying his own successful solo career since 1999, California–born harmonica player and singer Mitch Kashmar plays with funk group War; that’s right, Lee Oskar’s old group, so you don’t need me to tell you how good he is. This 66 minutes long live CD was recorded at a blues festival in Canada and features him in excellent form, stretching out with his band on a varied programme of blues and the odd jazz number; the powerful ‘Lollipop Mama’ is a tribute to Mitch’s beer-drinking buddy, the late great William Clarke, also a former employer of Mitch’s guitarist John Marx.
