Just letting you know that “The Fish Fry” loves Los Fabulocos, with appearances on the last five playlists. Chuck said he had been looking forward to this release for some time, and as with all Delta Groove albums, this one didn’t disappoint!

I just receive the Los Fabulocos featuring Kid Ramos. I am a big fan of Tex-Mex music, Flaco Jimenez, Los Lobos – my all time favourite band – Texas Tornados and Kid Ramos and The Mannish Boys as well, how could I be “disappointed” ? On the contrary, I’ve been truly and completely amazed by this great  rootsy and rockin’ sound: I like it so much and I keep on playin’ it  very much in these hot days of july: it will be  one of my favourite for airplay in the next weeks, that’s for sure !

Simply stated, when I previewed this on my weekly blues radio show this past week, the response was overwhelming!  It has been so long since such a wonderful blend of American musical styles has captivated my audience like this release has done!

Los Fabulocos have delivered a new sound. Well, not totally new as it reminds me of Richie Valens back in the 1960s, only better! A mix of rockabilly, tex-mex and just a taste of West Coast blues makes this CD so refreshing as you don’t hear something like that too often today. The whole band is tight but it is Kid Ramos’ guitar that makes me close my eyes and just listen. Always on the spot and tasty, never over-played or flashy, many guitar players should ask him for private lessons.
